Stacy started her fitness journey in 1986 at Ballys Total Fitness in King of Prussia, formerly called Holiday Spa. As a part time aerobics instructor at this club and others in the Philadelphia area Stacy found that teaching group exercise was a perfect fit to her personality and loved the challenge it presented to its participants. As her interest in the fitness industry grew Stacy decided that further study in exercise science was necessary to grow. She enrolled as a full-time student at West Chester University to study exercise science. Stacy graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Health & Physical Education and a Pennsylvania teaching certification. While attending WCU she taught group fitness at Gold’s Gym in Wyomissing and was introduced to personal training. The one-on-one interaction with clients was an incredible evolvement professionally. The intimacy it brought to the instructor-client relationship was a divine gift. To be afforded the gift and privilege of working with individuals toward creating a healthier life is an incredible honor.
From Gold’s she decided she wanted a more personalized approach and serene environment creating the opening of a private training studio and company, Real Fitness. This company began a quest of not only personal training but offered wellness programs throughout Berks County. Various corporations and community recreation centers including Caron Foundation, GPU Energy, Loomis, Albright, Exeter & Muhlenberg Parks and Recreation and the Hispanic Senior Center hired her company to offer fitness classes to their participants.
A once in a lifetime opportunity evolved for Stacy to take her years of experience and knowledge to another level. She accepted the position of Director of Group Exercise for Body Zone Sports and Wellness Complex, a 160,000 square foot facility located in Wyomissing she managed a staff of 35 fitness instructors and developed programs for a variety of clients. Having experience working with a large and very diverse population she had the responsibility of programming for a membership base of over 3000. In addition she trained the ECHL professional hockey organization, Reading Royals for two seasons with core conditioning. Additionally she developed a youth fitness program, Youth X Movement that received awards for its innovation and ability to reach all levels of movers. She was also involved in developing many marketing and community outreach programs to help educate the public on the need for an active lifestyle.
Her career in the fitness industry has taken 22 years in the making and continues to grow. This new company comprises many hours of training, experience and passion to help better serve her students. A recent life-threatening illness was the impetus of Sunshine Wellness Resources. Having open brain surgery to repair a cerebral aneurysm caused Stacy to reevaluate her career and her real desire to work with clients on a deeper level. She resigned from Body Zone in November of 2007 to pursue this and other personal goals.
